Paul Dards, inventor of Smoke Security

 


Smokecloak was created because of a need. After being robbed 7 times in 8 months, Paul Dards was desperate to find a way to stop the thieves. He sold high end stereo equipment, which attracted thieves willing to break through roller bars and high security locks. Their evolving tools matched the barriers put in place, and they always reached the merchandise before the police arrived. The Police and security companies informed him that there was no way to stop determined thieves, only to slow them down.

Using the thick British fog as inspiration, Dards created the first prototype and put it to the test. His success was so sound that the neighbours became interested and soon purchased machines for their own shops. Their positive experience encouraged him to seek patents and launch Smokecloak. Twelve years later, it has become an integral part of high-security installations in over 55 countries.
